Exactly 135 days following the previous coach's first press conference as the club's manager, his replacement Danny Rohl faced the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The magnitude of the challenge ahead of him is well known, given Martin's turbulent and disappointing four-month spell.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday boss was joined by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned pair of sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Stewart.

But what precisely did we learn from the 36-year-old German's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning is Everything

A single message came through loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance in front of the Scottish media - he understands the necessity to win matches, and do so quickly.

His predecessor Russell Martin managed just 17 matches and four months as manager, so the inquiry arose about what timeframe Rohl believes is realistic to turn around the struggling squad.

Although deftly sidestepping a specific response that might create future pressure, the coach's communication was quite clear.

"With hope very quickly," he stated. "That is crucial.
"In this business you have not much opportunity. You can discuss long-term vision but it's understood it concerns immediate results and the short-term is about securing victories. This is my requirement.
"One thing remains obvious - I need all players to comprehend our intended to perform. I return to my primary theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and it's together. By following this sequence, I'm convinced that I will remain for years at the club."

Expectations are Normal

The previous manager needed security protection to exit the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when performances are poor. Demonstrations have almost become a regular part of game day atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the question was posed about which attributes Rohl believes he possesses that would enable him to handle, let alone excel, in one of the most pressurized roles in British football?

"I think pressure in football are standard," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I think certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm a decade and a half in this career. I experienced a great chance to be at Bayern Munich and serve as only an assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the demands involved.
"You begin getting results and then some critics will say you need to play attractive soccer. That's the next phase but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward about what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Explains Chermiti Signing & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the role.

However, he defended and clarified the decision to bring his son to Ibrox.

"It's always uncomfortable to hear and in appearance I think we all agreed when we made this decision to hire Robbie that he would be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The reality of the situation is that we want to bring the very best talent to this club.
"My view on his professional path and background is he required no family help in soccer.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, after which he joined Norwich City as scouting chief and then was elevated to development role.
"Before we recruited him, multiple Premier League clubs wanted to acquire him. Our approach from the start of the process was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and deputy chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I was extremely open and I believe he likely experienced a more rigorous procedure than any other employee by the team.
"What I do know is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for this football club and I'm looking forward to him demonstrating that he'll become an excellent staff member for the club."

Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Chermiti, who joined the club for an alleged initial fee of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese youth international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a £15m deal.

He was asked if he stands by his multi-million pound signing, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell responded. "I believe Youssef Chermiti is a player who's got great ability.
"I haven't questioned him in any way. Again, I believe Danny will help to maximize the potential out of the player.
"It's very early days for the young player, he's a young talent and naturally with inexperienced players they occasionally require patience.
"But I'm certain throughout of his time at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a very, very good player."

The CEO Acknowledges Supporters' Frustration and Anger

The chief executive was facing firing line, given the criticism that has been directed his way by some club own supporters.

Additionally, there was a sign in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent tie with Dundee United suggesting him - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for him.

Like his sporting director, the CEO did not evade the topic.

"I completely appreciate the frustration and anger that the supporters are experiencing because results this season haven't met expectations and no one is satisfied with them," he stated.
"The pain and frustration fans experience is matched within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a focal point for such issues and my responsibility as a
