I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
