In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the official release, "A strange confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret sect.

The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Features

Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally contained a quest that clearly nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
